PUBLIC NOTICE The U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration (EDA) is considering a request for Federal assistance from Ivy Tech Community College to construct the Ivy Tech - Wabash Valley Precision Agriculture Center of Excellence in Terre Haute, Vigo County, Indiana for the purpose of establishing a regionally focused workforce training center of excellence involving Precision Agriculture Equipment Technology. Pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 and the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, as amended, EDA is conducting an environmental assessment (EA) of the proposed project. The project is described as the Precision Agriculture Equipment Technology degree program (Center of Excellence). The project will be located at 1650 East Industrial Drive in Terre Haute, Indiana. The purpose of the project will focus on the intersection of geospatial technology and the field crop agricultural industry with a goal of training individuals for this growing industry in the Midwest. Precision Agriculture Equipment Technology (Center of Excellence) will provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities students will need to allow them to advance in their current ag career as well as attract those lacking the agricultural background to consider the industry as their career of choice. This project will create hands on training lab space, equipment needed, and other supporting space to train the regional workforce. Project information is available for review at 8000 South Education Drive in Terre Haute, Indiana.
